Come join us and find out about exciting volunteer opportunities with Special Olympics! The meetings will provide a general overview of Special Olympics. We will also explain the structure of Special Olympics Virginia and its relationship to our local area. A description of the different sports we offer and the time frames of each will be given including when and where the Summer, Winter, and Fall games are held and how the athletes are selected. We will also present different areas of opportunity for volunteers and explain, for example, what a coach does and what paperwork, reporting and time commitments are required. The coaches package will be discussed as an example of volunteer activities.
