Welcome to Prince William Special Olympics

Prince William County Special Olympics provides recreational programs for individuals with developmental disabilities who reside in the county. Currently there are 13 competitive sports events which involve 270 athletes (children and adults).

According to Changing Lives through Sports: A Report Card on the Impact of Special Olympics, the benefits are substantial. Research documents significant improvement in sense of self, social skills, and social interactions. Parents also see health critical health benefits. Reliable data also reflects a strong correlation between Special Olympics participation and the ability to be employed.

If you are new to Special Olympics Virginia, before mailing the form, please make sure the form is signed by a medical professional (a person licensed in Virginia to complete  physical examinations).

Raise money for PWSO & Special Olympics of Virginia and enjoy a super fun weekend in Virginia Beach!  There is a Splash & Dash Boardwalk run on the Boardwalk, a costume parade, free t-shirts, sponsors goodies, and the best after PLUNGE party on the beach!  Only need to raise $100 to Plunge!  There are other opportunities for incentives – including MORE DETAILS TO COME ON HOW YOU CAN EARN A FREE WEEKEND STAY IN VIRGINIA BEACH!

 Help us continue the sports programs for your athlete and individuals with disabilities in Prince William County!  We cannot provide the programs we do without the fundraising from the Polar Plunge so we everyone’s help!  Join the Area 23 Team NOW and start fundraising for PWSO & SOVA!  Once you join the team you can create your own page and email it out to friends, family, and put on social media.  It’s super easy to do!
