Community Event - June 7, 2008
All Athletes and guests of Special Olympics are invited to join the 5th Annual Disability Awareness Night sponsored by the Washington Group: Special Care Planning Team on June 7th at Pfitzer Stadium in Woodbridge, VA.  The Potomac Nationals will play the Wilmington Blue Rocks.   read more...

Athletes, if you have a Special Olympic uniform that has not been turned in, please call the office and let us know. We need all uniforms returned as soon as possible  
Community Event - May 17, 2008

Swim Training Programs

Swimming practice in Manassas is held at the GMU Freedom Center from 7:30 to 8:30 PM. Athletes should arrive at 7:00 PM to stretch, warm-up, etc. and pool time at 7:30 PM.


Swimming practice is in Woodbridge starting Sunday, February 24 from 5:00 - 6:00 PM at Dale City Recreation. Athletes should arrive at 4:55 PM to stretch and warm-up.

Powerlifting
Powerlifting Training is now in session on Thursday nights from 7:30 - 8:45pm.
 

Tennis
Tennis practice begins on Tuesday, April 1, 6:30 PM at Woodbridge Middle School.  The first night will be for informational meeting.

   Welcome to Prince William Special Olympics Minimize  

Prince William County Special Olympics provides recreational programs for individuals with developmental disabilities who reside in the county. Currently there are 13 competitive sports events which involve 270 athletes (children and adults).

According to Changing Lives through Sports: A Report Card on the Impact of Special Olympics, the benefits are substantial. Research documents significant improvement in sense of self, social skills, and social interactions. Parents also see health critical health benefits. Reliable data also reflects a strong correlation between Special Olympics participation and the ability to be employed.

     
    

   PWSO Council Meetings Minimize  

The next Area Council meeting will be held on Monday, April 21, 2008, 7 - 9 PM at the office on 4326 Dale Blvd, Suite 1.   The focus will be on the upcoming Track & Field meet hosted by Area 23 Prince WIlliam Special Olympics.
